In this corridor, the route from Virar to Chirner is a 79km long passage that has acquired approval in the year 2012. Once completed, the corridor will enhance the development of various areas like Kalyan, Dombivali, Virar, Bhiwandi, Taloja, Panvel, and Uran.
The corridor will help in reducing traffic congestion from important highways up to Mumbai as well as reduce the time taken to travel from Alibaug to Virar by half. It will provide access to the proposed airport in Navi Mumbai. It is a major developmental milestone in the history of Virar. Proposed Churchgate-Virar Elevated Rail Corridor:
The Churchgate-Virar Elevated Corridor, also known as Western Railway Elevated Corridor will connect Oval Maidan with Virar. As per the plans, there will be 26 stations on route, among which 5 stations will be underground, 19 elevated and 2 at ground. It is going to be a 63.30km two-track elevated corridor that will be built on the Western Line.
Proposed Panvel-Vasai-Virar Suburban Railway Corridor:
Environmental impact study work has begun in October 2017 for the proposed Panvel-Vasai-Virar Suburban Railway Corridor. It is one of the biggest suburban railway corridors, which will connect three existing railway lines – Harbour, Western, and Central. The corridor will be 70.4km long, out of which 21km will be elevated and 49km will be on ground. Once completed, the corridor will enhance public transport in the metropolitan region. Moreover, there will be an enhancement in setting up additional commercial spaces in and around Virar.

Attractions In Virar:
The Jivdani Temple is the only temple of Goddess Jivdani in India. It is located approximately 1375 steps above ground level. Devotees from several far away areas come to take blessings at the temple, which is atop a hill. During Navratri festival, the temple as well as nearby area is extremely crowded.
Holy Spirit Church:
