Palghar is a fast developing taluka in the State of Maharashtra and lies under the Konkan Division. In August’ 2014, the Maharashtra State Government made Palghar the 36th district of Maharashtra. The Palghar District has Dahanu to its North and Naigaon to its South.

India’s first atomic power plant is located at Tarapur, which is at a distance of 16 kms from Palghar. Tarapur Atomic Power Station (T.A.P.S) is operated by the NPCIL (Nuclear Power Corporation of India). The MIDC Tarapur Power Station is at a distance of 12 kms from Palghar.
India’s first bullet train project that was launched in September 2017 will run between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The proposed bullet train will have a stoppage at Boisar, which lies in Palghar district. This will enhance connectivity and bring a boost to Palghar’s real estate market.
The New Palghar Township is being developed by CIDCO, which is spread over 440 hectares of land and will open the gates for real estate development. The bhoomi pujan for the Township was done in November 2017 in the presence of CM Devendra Fadnavis, and is expected to get completed in the next 10-15 years. The Township will have several administrative buildings and logistics and will be similar to the Township of Navi Mumbai.
